The smart-me system and its hardware always requires a direct internet connection to the cloud.
Locally, you must therefore set up a WLAN 2.4GHz with an internet connection. 5Ghz is not supported because of the low range.
Internet access can be solved as follows:
Provider offer via cable from Swisscom, Sunrise or other local Internet provider and 2.4GHz WLAN router. (usually supplied by the provider)
Create Internet via mobile phone SIM card and 2.4GHz WLAN router.

Mobile LTE router with 2.4GHz WLAN:
An external SIM card slot and signal strength LEDs allow for easy commissioning. The router's 4G module offers LTE Cat 4 speeds of up to 150 Mbps. The device can also be used as a DSL router or WLAN client and has a fallback function for automatic switching to LTE or WLAN if the DSL connection fails.

Notes on SSID and password:
When creating the WLAN SSID (name): do not use country-specific letters (ö, ü, ä ) or special characters (%, &, /, _,-).
Password: do not use currency characters ($, £).
